Solar Electric Rebate Program- Solar electric power works hand-in-hand with other efficiency upgrades to lower your energy bills. We make solar power more affordable than ever by providing rebates for Island homeowners, farms and businesses to install solar panels. If supplied and installed by an efficiencyPEI Network of Excellence contractor, you could be eligible for a rebate of up to 40% of installed cost.

Bona fide farm properties are eligible for higher incentives.

Rebates for energy efficient equipment such as heat pumps, water heaters, heat recovery air exchangers and biomass heating.

Energy Efficient Equipment Rebates Program - Energy efficient equipment such as air source heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps, water heating devices, biomass heating devices, and other energy saving products can lower your overall energy costs. For this type of equipment, installed in either your home or long-term rentals, you can access efficiencyPEI rebates. Apply online within one year of installation in an existing property.

New Home Construction Program - It pays to think about energy efficiency when you build. Your new home or rental property will cost less to operate, be more comfortable and help reduce your environmental impact. Our energy partners can arrange for a certified energy advisor to evaluate your building plans before you build. And we subsidize more than 80% of the cost of this evaluation and follow-up assessment.

When you build using the advisor's recommendations to improve the energy efficiency of your design you can apply for different rebates.

Note: for this rebate rental properties include townhouses, duplexes and seasonal homes only.

• Installing a programmable thermostat
• Installing a low-flow shower head
• Providing a voucher for a free heating system cleaning
• Providing ENERGY STAR® LED light bulbs

Commercial EV Charger Program - To encourage business and community organizations to install electric vehicle charging stations in public spaces, the PEI Electric Vehicle Charging Fund will support up to 75% of pre-approved costs for business, academic and community organizations in PEI.

Community Energy Solutions - Businesses, community centres, agricultural operations and more can now take advantage of energy efficient rebates and advice from efficiencyPEI. We can help with energy savings projects like upgrades to heating systems, optimizing ventilation, thermostats and controls, and more. Larger operations may be eligible for custom solutions such as a feasibility study and access to an onsite energy manager.

Applicants will get a free energy audit by one of our approved auditors to help make the right energy saving decisions. Apply before you begin your project.

Rebates on energy efficient products for your business

Business Energy Rebates Program - Upgrading the products used to help run your business, such as energy efficient lighting, building controls, heat pumps, and more, can not only reduce your environmental impact, but can also improve your bottom line. Island businesses, non-profits or industrial/agricultural facilities can apply for up to 50% of costs to purchase and install approved high-efficiency products and equipment in a non-residential building. Rebates are also available to businesses that provide tourist and short-term rental accommodations.

Thinking of upgrading your residential heating system to a cleaner, more efficient heat source? The Residential Home Heating Loan Program can help get you started. Eligible applicants can receive a loan for the purchase and installation of equipment – and you don't have to pay the interest. This includes heat pumps, water heating devices, biomass heating devices, and other energy-saving products. Apply for the loan before you have your equipment installed.
